Wine Walk with Views of the Moselle and Fun Puzzles

Amid green vineyard slopes, quiet forest paths, and sweeping views of the Moselle Valley, a very special wine hike awaits you. Around the wine village of Lieser, you’ll follow clues from treasure chest to treasure chest, sample select Moselle wines along the way, and learn more about viticulture and the region.

This is a self-guided tour. You decide for yourself how fast to walk and when it’s time to take a break and enjoy the view of the vineyards. This way, the wine hike along the Moselle combines exercise and scenic beauty with a casual wine tasting in the open air.

WINE TASTING IN THE VINEYARD

Here's what to expect on the wine hike

Your wine walk begins at the Kochan & Platz Winery in Lieser with a sparkling welcome glass of Secco. Equipped with a wine glass, a glass holder, and information about your chosen route, you’ll then set off on your own through the vineyards.

There are three stops along the hike. In each of the treasure chests provided, you’ll find a bottle of wine, mineral water, and some small snacks. A riddle will reveal the code for the next chest and guide you further through the Moselle countryside. Additional information along the way offers insights into the wines, regional viticulture, and the unique features of the area.

A WINE HIKE FOR COUPLES, FRIENDS, AND SMALL GROUPS

Relax together after the tour

The combination of exercise, simple puzzles, and a wine tasting amidst the Moselle vineyards makes the wine hike an ideal experience for couples and groups of friends ranging from two to ten people. No special knowledge of wine is required—the focus is on the shared experience, the scenery, and getting to know Moselle wines in a relaxed setting.

For young people, too, the tour offers a varied alternative to a traditional wine tasting: Instead of tasting at a fixed location, you’ll discover the wines right where the grapes grow.
