The RESTAURANT – Definetely a dash of Difference

Once upon a time, in the year 1809, the Nießen family decided to use the remains of the demolished mansion Philippsfreude in Wittlich to build a new house. This is how the story of this building started. Used for many years as a grocers shop, the  Culinarium R 2.0 today is a place that unites historic walls and innovative interior decoration working in unison with a gracious service for undisturbed moments of delight. In the main restaurant, the Garden Room or the Ancestral Room you will certainly find your favourite place. Discover the idyllc patio in the Romantikgarten with the original slate walls and its almost Mediterranean charme in the summertime.

 

Our Philosophy of delight

Having undisturbed conversations and relaxed dinners and, in doing so, losing track of time should be the essential point of every good meal. According to our motto "Fine food from the region - the best form all over the world", Mario Niederprüm, chef of the Culinarium R 2.0 and his young dynamic team focus on what characterises every good meal: a first-class basic ingredient, skillfully prepared so that its natural taste is preserved. Mario chooses the ingredients from both local produce as well as international delicacies.

ON FINE dishes aND multifarious wines

The unsophisticated menu comprises both little treats for your buds as well as excessive indulgence. It offers a well-chosen mix of traditional cooking and modern elements and almost forgotten classics and specialities that are worth trying. The individual products are charmfully explained in the little Glossary of Delight at the foot of the menu, increasing the appreciation of your meal. The special presentation of the premium steaks with a selection of finest peppers and salts for individual seasoning makes the hearts of all who like savoury food leap for joy.      


The winelist presents a specified and exclusive range, focussing on Moselle-wines. Rieslings are the centre of attention, however, pinot blanc, pinot gris, Chardonnay and a fine selection of local ed wines are represented, rounded off by various red wines from France, Italy and Spain.
